New material, new sound to debut at Joe’s Pub on Feb. 4

We have been working for almost a year now on our third studio album, “El Desierto Y La Ciudad,” (The Desert and the City). We were hoping for a 2010 release but as the year is coming to a close, we find ourselves…still working. The songs for this album, especially from the Desert side, are a departure for us both musically and lyrically. Over the course of our five-year career we have become known for our driving dance floor songs and socially conscious lyrics. At least one side of this record will have neither of those qualities. The album acts as a soundtrack for a journey between two worlds: the peaceful, spacious deserts of the west and the bustling, urban life of New York City. With an “A” side and a “B” side, the album as a whole presents a rich sonic palette that encompasses rock, latin, dance, and balladic styles, with evocative lyrics and musical interludes that capture the spirit of two very different landscapes. We hope that you can join us for a special live performance of these new songs at Joe’s Pub in NYC on Friday, Feb. 4.
